Interview Tips
 

Preparing for the Interview

 
  • Know the exact time and place of the interview.
  • Make sure you have all the information, the Interviewers full name and title.
  • Research the Company before you go for the interview.
  • Remember first impressions last.
  • Dress neatly.

Do’s and Don’ts

 
  • Never arrive late for an interview!!! Always arrive 15 minutes earlier
  • Switch off your cell phone!
  • Greet the interviewer with enthusiasm and by their last name.
  • Always keep good eye contact in the interview
  • If you are feeling under the weather or have been working extensive long hours and not quite in the interview frame of mind, mention to the Client that you have been working long hours and they will respect you for being open an upfront with them.
  • Never make derogatory remarks about your Present or Former Employer.
  • When asked why you left a Former Company, always keep it short and direct to the point.
  • Should the interviewer ask what your salary expectations are, always indicate what your current salary package is and that you are negotiable and that you are very interested in the opportunity that presents itself.

A few questions they could possibly ask you

 
  • Tell me something about yourself?
  • Tell me about your background and accomplishments?
  • Why would you like to work for this Company?
  • What interests you about our Company?
  • Why should our Company employ you?
  • What are your strengths and weaknesses?
  • Are you a team player or do you prefer working on your own?
  • What motivates you?
  • What are your goals?
  • How do you deal with pressure, give examples?

Questions you could ask to gain further information

 
  • Ask questions relating to the Company and the Position you are applying for
  • What are the Client’s expectations for this position?
  • What would he/she consider to be the most important skills required for the job?
  • Remember a lack of questions can show a lack of interest in the position.

Closing the interview

 
If you are interested in the position let the interviewer know. You could mention that;“I am very interested in what I have seen here today, your Company and the people I have met". Thank the interviewer for their time and consideration and let them know that you are looking forward to hearing from them.
